Reaching every heart. Teaching every mind. Equipping every hand — for the glory of God.
Our mission is to glorify God by making devoted followers of Jesus Christ — people who love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and who love their neighbours as themselves.
This mission is not the exclusive calling of our leadership — it belongs to every member of our congregation. We are all ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20), sent into the streets of Scarborough with a message of reconciliation, hope, and restoration.
We pursue our mission through four integrated commitments: Spirit-led Worship, Biblical Discipleship, Fervent Prayer, and Compassionate Service. Each of these is not a program or a department — they are the heartbeat rhythms of our shared life as a faith community.
At Church of God Saviour King, we take seriously the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18–20. We are sent to go — not merely to invite people in, but to go out and bring the love of Christ to every home, every block, and every corner of our city.
Everything we do flows from these four core commitments. They are the practical expression of our calling as a body of believers in Scarborough.
We gather to honour God with every aspect of our being — in song, in prayer, in the giving of our time and service. Worship is not a Sunday event; it is a way of life.
We are committed to growing mature followers of Christ through Scripture-based teaching, mentorship, and intentional community. Faith must be nurtured to flourish.
We believe prayer is the engine of the church. We are a praying people — interceding for our city, our nation, and the nations of the world, trusting God to move mountains.
Faith without works is dead (James 2:17). We express the love of Christ through tangible acts of service — feeding the hungry, caring for families, and standing with the vulnerable.
Our mission does not originate with us. It is drawn from the very heart of God, revealed in Scripture across both the Old and New Testaments. From the call of Abraham to "be a blessing to all nations" (Genesis 12:2–3), to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2), God has always been a sending God — and He continues to send His people today.
As a Pentecostal congregation, we believe in the full operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as tools for mission. The gifts of healing, prophecy, and tongues are not relics of a past era — they are living realities that equip us to minister effectively in a broken world.
Our mission also has a local focus. The 16 Fairfax Crescent address is not merely our postal location — it is our launchpad. From here, we send out members to participate in neighbourhood initiatives, school partnerships, seniors' outreach, and newcomer integration programs that make a tangible difference in the lives of Scarborough residents.
Every baptism, every healed relationship, every person who finds their way to faith through this community — these are the measures of a mission fulfilled. We press on with joy, knowing that He who began a good work in us will carry it through to completion (Philippians 1:6).
The mission of Church of God Saviour King is not a spectator sport. Every person who walks through our doors is invited — and needed — to play an active role in what God is doing in Scarborough and beyond.
